"Weh, wieviel Not und Fährnis auf dem Meere . . ." ["No mar, tanta tormenta e tanto dano. . ." / Os Lusíadas, Canto I, Stanza 106]. Translated in 1940 and sent to friends as a Christmas card. A manuscript copy of Zweig's translation is located in the Deutsches Literaturarchiv Marbach, A:Zweig Nr. 64.415
